- Make sure your TV is tuned in to the best possible station. For those of you with HDTVs make sure your watching on the HD version of your local FOX station. If you watch it on the standard def channel you WILL NOT be watching it in HD!
- Make sure your seats a positioned for a great viewing angle for every viewer. This really only affects those of you with projection tvs but your friends on the side of the room may not get the full experience if they are located at an extreme angle to the set. Make sure to sit in each seat to see if the viewing experience is satisfactory to you. If you wouldn’t want to sit in that seat chances are they won’t either. If you do have issues with seating, try playing around with the arrangement to the best of your ability.
- If you get bored before the game, try calibrating your set with a calibration disc to get the most natural image reproduction out of your set.
Sound
- If you have a surround sound system check to make sure its set up correctly and that all your speakers are functioning. If you have seating spread throughout the room consider setting your system to all channel stereo, while you will lose some of the surround sound effects this setting will help ensure that every one in your humble abode has an equal listening experience after all sound is half of the experience.
-If you don’t have a surround sound system but your tv has an audio output consider bringing your stereo system into the room where you intend to watch the game and hook it up for some added volume.
-Just like with your Video, Audio can and should be calibrated if time allows. Many systems these days come with automatic calibration systems and a mic, simply follow the instructions on how to calibrate your system and be amazed at the results.
Control
-It’s your house shouldn’t you be the king of your own castle? If you don’t already have a universal remote that will control all of your equipment, consider getting one. It will make your entire viewing experience better from the Super Bowl and beyond. Two to check out would be the Logitech Harmony lines as well as the Phillips pronto line. These remotes are so easy to use that once you have them set up you will wonder how you ever lived with out one.
Rewind!!!
- We understand that not every one is a Giants or Patroits fan. Some of you may just watch the game for the commercials. If you have a DVR, DVD recorder or even a VCR, set it to record the game so you can rewind an watch your favorite during the always exhilarating half time show.
Have fun!
- The most important tip we can give you is to have as much fun as you possibly can! The Super Bowl is just one time of year that you get together with the people you like an you laugh and joke and have an overall good time. Please enjoy this night to the max and be safe! Best of luck from your TV simplified team

- I am trying to program my Direct TV remote control to my 24" Dynex TV. Dynex does not appear on the TV listings which I am given. I've tried using other TV Manufacturer's but it gives me a message stating that my TV is not programmed. What can I do to resolve this problem. Thanks. Mike- None of the TVs I've looked at have a video out jack. How can I record stuff onto my VCR if there's no video output capability? The salesmen, as expected, have no clue.
- Just bought and set up a 42in.JVC 1080p LCD TV. The salesman tried to sell me an HDMI cable for $80.00 claiming that this set required it to maximize picture quality. I didn't buy it and just went ahead and used the component cables from my previous Sony 720p projection TV setup. It looks good to me but I've since seen HDMI cables on eBay for $10.00 or less. Question: is there any justification in performance or quality to account for a $70.00 spread between what appear to be identical cables? Whatever the performance benefit, my main interest in HDMI is to eliminate some of the "cable clutter" at back of the set.
- Do you know the specific specs and prices of the new 2008 LG LCD models? Especially the LG70 and LG71 series? I'm looking for things like contrast ratio, if it has 120hz, processing power( 14-bit), what bit-panel it has, things like that. Or just whatever you can find. Thanks
- Have a Toshiba 56 in projection that after 20-30 min the Connivance is shifting to a point that you see 3 images (red, blue, white). After about a 45-60 min of the entire shift it stops and than you have to and realign the colors. Questions 1 Is this repairable? 2 If so what should I expect to spend? 3 Or should I just say good bye and get a new HDTV? Thanks
